The Campus of excellence skills and qualifications for smart Mobilty and Transport : a campus focused and Entreprise’s needs
In 2020, the Campus of Excellence for smart mobility and transport is created thanks to VACO Committee’s recommendations and according to a collaborative approach between the Occitanie Region and Academy.
The Campus MTI aims to provide activities for research experimentations, innovative training from level 3 to level 8 regarding the European Qualification Frameworks. It also facilitates professional integration and support economic development.
Main companies and clusters of the mobility sector are involved in Campus activities through training, conferences, events, meetings, researches or internships…
The economic partners involvement in the Campus governance guarantees an effective response to the employment market accordingly in competencies and training needs.
The Occitanie Region is a key player in smart mobility and transport.
The Region supports many projects dealing with smart mobility and transport , energy transition.
The Francazal site allows testing of smart vehicles on a closed road.
The AutoCampus project (launched in 2018 at the Paul Sabatier University) testing in real urban/semi-urban conditions new technologies and services.
Main key companie players such as Actia, Continental Automotive and Renault Software Lab together with clusters such as Totem, Digital 113, Ten log are representing more than 400 companies dedicated for smart mobility and transport.
Toulouse Métropole is managing a smart city (Villagil project) and supporting new enterprises implantation.
The Campus of Excellence for Intelligent Mobility and Transportation Trades and Qualifications is supporting all above actors in providing training and skills needs for smart mobility, transport, logistic, and digital activities.
The motivation of the Campus MTI creation in Occitanie.
A strategic steering committee for the regional Autonomous and Connected Vehicles sector in Occitanie (VACO), appointed by the Prefecture and the Occitanie Region in 2018, recommended:
- Uniting regional enterprises in “smart and sustainable mobility” cluster
- Anticipating skills needs and training curricula
- Coordinating innovation and experimentation activities
- Improving sector attractiveness
- Campus of skills and qualifications creation.
The Campus impact: providing an active support in new skills and training programs needs for new jobs.
the Campus MTI aims is to:
- understand the jobs’ evolution and their impact on training and skill needs,
- create vocational training and education programs from EQF levels 3 to 8 dedicated for employment, professional integration, and economic development support,
- improve companies’ observatory for jobs,
- develop technological platforms with the support of key companies such as Actia, Continental automotive, Vitesco Technologies, or Renault Software Labs bringing together public and private laboratories.
